Scheduled Posts failing

Last Updated -

Sometimes your scheduled posts fail to post on time or are missed completely.

There are technical reasons for this, most likely being that the wp-cron.php execution is taking too long to complete and is never successfully publishing your posts. The fact wp-cron.php takes a while could be many reasons but is likely due to the number of tasks it is performing. If you are running plugins that frequently do tasks like post tagging, or analytics.

Possible Solution:

Edit your wp-config.php file via FTP and add define('ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true); to the top of the file on the 2nd line. Save and test.

If you are unsure why your posts are failing, please contact support so we can look into it for you.
