How Do I Change the URL of an Active Site to a New Site URL?

After you've already created a WordPress app on Pagely, you might need to change your domain to something else. This is most common when switching an app from being a staging environment over to becoming a production environment.

Changing the Domain on an Existing Site

If you're changing a domain on an existing site that's not already being used, you'll need to follow these steps:

1. First, ensure that the domain is pointed to your Pagely app.
2. Next, add the domain as an alias on the site from within Atomic. For more information, take a look at our article on adding domain aliases.
3. From within Atomic, access your app listing by clicking on Apps.
   
   
   
   
4. Next, access the app details by clicking on the settings icon to the right of your app's name.
   
   
   
   
5. Once inside your app's details page, navigate to the Domains tab.
   
   
   
   
6. Next, expand the domain that you want to mark as primary.
   
   
   
   
7. Finally, click on the Promote to Primary button to promote this domain to the primary domain for your app.
   
   
   
   

You've now changed the primary domain on your WordPress app. Please also note that when changing the primary domain, you may also want to perform a search and replace on your database to update any references to the old domain.
