How to enable CDN in WordPress (ARES)

Last Updated -

NOTE: The CDN Enable option in Wordpress Dashboard > PressCDN will be disabled while the PressDNS distribution is being created for a new application deployment.

Every site will have CDN enabled by default and we highly recommend leaving CDN enabled on any active site.

This will help overall performance by having static assets loading geographically closer to your site visitors and keep your bandwidth use low (Bandwidth vs CDN).

Using our Pagely CDN Plugin

We recommend that you use our Pagely CDN Plugin since most other solutions for adding a CDN to WordPress have many other features that you most likely wont need in our environment.

You can view and/or modify your site's CDN settings through the WordPress Dashboard by clicking on the Pagely icon > PressCDN

The HTTP CDN URL should already be populated with a HTTP CDN URL assigned to your domain with the following format:

s[DOMAINID].pcdn.co

Your CDN settings should look like the example below.

Using a custom CDN host/domain

You can use whatever sub-domain you wish for your CDN host (ex. cdn.example-site.com).

Please check out our guide on how to set that up.
