NOTE: The CDN Enable option in Wordpress Dashboard > PressCDN will be disabled while the PressDNS distribution is being created for a new application deployment.
Every site will have CDN enabled by default and we highly recommend leaving CDN enabled on any active site.
This will help overall performance by having static assets loading geographically closer to your site visitors and keep your bandwidth use low (Bandwidth vs CDN).
Using our Pagely CDN Plugin
We recommend that you use our Pagely CDN Plugin since most other solutions for adding a CDN to WordPress have many other features that you most likely wont need in our environment.
You can view and/or modify your site's CDN settings through the WordPress Dashboard by clicking on the Pagely icon > PressCDN
The HTTP CDN URL should already be populated with a HTTP CDN URL assigned to your domain with the following format:
s[DOMAINID].pcdn.co
Your CDN settings should look like the example below.
If you need a HTTPS CDN URL, please check out on how to use a HTTPS CDN URL on your site.
How can I find my CDN URL?
You can view your CDN zone by logging in to atomic-beta.com > selecting CDN > looking at the second column for your cdn (it will end in pcdn.co). You can further confirm this by clicking the icon to the right side of the row, the "Target CNAME" will show the correct value.
Using a custom CDN host/domain
You can use whatever sub-domain you wish for your CDN host
STEP 1: login to atomic-beta.com > select CDN > select "New CUSTOM CNAME" > and enter a valid endpoint (ex. cdn.pagelyexample.com). On the same page please take not of your "TARGET CNAME" at the top, you will need this.
STEP 2: Add the CNAME at your DNS provider (in the video below, we will use PressDNS)
STEP 2: Add the CNAME at your DNS provider (in the video below, we will use PressDNS)
STEP 2: Add the CNAME at your DNS provider (in the video below, we will use PressDNS)
from atomic-beta.com > select DNS > select your DNS zone > change the record type to CNAME > enter your new CDN endpoint > enter the target CNAME > save.
Please note if your CDN endpoint requires SSL we'll need to issue you one. Our Recommendation is the SSL is issued through ACM, but other SSL providers may suffice. Feel free to contact support should you require assistance.
